TPE flame retarded, free from halogens
The new flame retardant TPE compounds, free of halogens, fulfil the specification of UL 94 V0 and the specification of the glow wire test IEC 60695-2-11 at 850°C with various wall thicknesses.
The TPE compounds are free from halogens and antimony, therefore they do not produce corrosive and toxic gases like hydrochloric acid or aromatic bromine compounds in case of fire.
The compounds are available from 40 to 90 Shore A and are very easy to process by injection moulding and extrusion. The TPE materials of the flame retarded series are characterized by their low compression set and their high flexibility.
These materials can be used in the electric-, building- and railroad industries, e.g. for profiles, gaskets and cables.
Lifoflex FLAM Serie 600
Flame retardant TPE, free of halogens, fulfils the specification of UL 94 V0 with 3 mm wall thickness. Easy processing by injection moulding and extrusion.
Lifoflex FLAM Serie 700
Series Lifoflex UV FLAM 700 fulfils highest specifications of flame retardant materials and can be used for railroad applications. A profile, tested along DIN 5510-2:2009-05 (fire precaution tests for rolling stock), received the following classifications: flammability S3, drip formation ST2, smoke formation SR2. The DIN EN ISO 5659-2 fume toxicity yielded an FED classification of 0.14 (max. permissible: ≤ 1) for the tested material (tzul = 30 min).
